General questions

+ What is your email response time?

My typical response time is within 24 hours of you emailing me. I do not respond after hours or on weekends.

+ Are all of your products really gluten free?

Yes. I have Celiac disease, which means my kitchen and entire apothecary is gluten free. All ingredients are either certified gluten free or come from known gluten free sources. All of my products are tested and used by me as well, so if there is ever a problem I will know before a product ever goes out to a client.

+ Do you do custom orders?

At this time I do not do custom orders. I do formulate custom blends for my clients that I work with one-on-one. For more information on this, please visit the Wild Herbalist page

+ I have "this issue/problem". Can you help me?

Please understand that I am not legally allowed to give free medical or accounting advise outside of one-on-one client work. If you are searching for ways to fully nourish yourself or your business, and want to understand what the root cause is, please schedule a discovery call and we can go from there

+ How do I become a retailer/wholesaler?

Thank you for your interest! Please email me a list of the offerings and quantity you are interested in.

+ What rescue organizations do you donate to?

orders + shipping

+ When will my order ship?

Please note that I do not ship daily. I make runs to the post twice weekly. You will receive an email with a tracking number once your order has shipped. All orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail and insured for $50.

If your tracking numberisn't showing with the shipping provider, please be patient. USPS is slow, and sometimes you will receive your order before the tracking information is available.

+ Do you offer refunds or accept returns?

I do not offer refunds or returns unless you received a defective item or product you did not order. Once your order leaves my hands, I am not responsible for any products that are lost, damaged, broken, or stolen. Priority insurance is always added to your package when shipped.

You can file a claim with USPS by going to USPS.com, inputing your tracking number, and sharing pictures of the damaged box, it's contents, and a picture of the shipping label for proof.

+ Can I cancel or change my order?

Once an order is placed, I am unable to change an order. I can cancel your order and issue a refund if your order has not yet been shipped. Please email me at wildsupport@thebarefootowl.com with your name and order number and a refund will be issued unless your order has already been shipped. I will not issue refunds to orders that have already been shipped.

+ Do you combine orders?

I appreciate your support by purchasing my products, but I am unable to combine orders. By placing more than one order, you are agreeing to receiving more than one shipment.

+ I received my order damaged or part of it is missing. What do I do now?

Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do if you received part of your order lost or damaged. You will need to file a claim with USPS, where once approved, they will give you a refund for what was damaged or lost.

You can file a claim with USPS by going to USPS.com, inputing your tracking number, and sharing pictures of the damaged box, it's contents, and a picture of the shipping label for proof.

+ My body butter was melted when I received it, is it still ok to use?

Yes, your body butter is still safe to use.

I create my body butters without the use of synthetic stabilizers or additives. This means that some melting may occur during transit, which is out of my control. All butters are placed in the fridge prior to shipping to ensure that they arrive to you in as solid a state as possible.

If you receive your butter melted, here is what you should do: place your butter in the fridge as soon as you receive your order (do NOT open the container as its contents will spill everywhere). Melting does not affect the efficacy of the butter, but it will change the consistency of the butter (it goes from a whipped butter to a body balm). Because your butter is whipped, there are tiny air bubbles making the consistency light and fluffy. If your butter is melted, it looses the whipped effect (the tiny air bubbles creating the whipped effect collapse), which also decreases the volume of the butter. Thus, the container may actually look half full. If you wish your butter to be whipped consistency again, you can scoop out the contents and whipped the butter back to fluffy life. To do this, the butter must be cold for this to work.

+ My salve was melted when I received it, is it still ok to use?

Yes, your salve is still safe to use. I formulate my salves to be a semi-soft solid at room temperature. Despite containing beeswax, salves are prone to melting in extreme heat. Melting does not affect the efficacy of your salve. If you are concerned about the consistency, you can place your salve in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before opening the container upon receiving your order. Once solid, you can store it at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.

+ Do you ship internationally?

Unfortunately not. Due to shipping regulations, I am only able to ship within the United States.

+ Do you practice sustainable packaging methods?

All of my inner packaging is reused from other orders I have personally received. I also reuse outer packaging (shipping boxes) when needed and available to me at the time.

Wild Herbalist

+ what is the difference between seasonal and annual offerings?

Seasonal offerings are only available for a short period of time. Once the offering sells out, it will not be restocked until the next season.

Annual offerings are available in my shop year round.

+ The product I want has been sold out for a while. When will it be restocked?

All of my herbal offerings are made with intension during cyclical cycles (moon phases, astrological signs, my own peronal energy, etc). This is a ritual that I have done for years, and aligns with my creativity and ritual around making my offerings. I feel that the energy and intention I put into my herbal offerings is carried over from my ritual practice of creating them. I would not want to sell an offering that was made outside of this ritual becuase the energy and intention will not be there.

If an offering is out of stock, please feel free to reach out to me and I can put you on a waiting list and let you know once it is back in stock.

+ What is the shelf life of herbal products?

Herbal products have a shelf life of 6 months to 2-3 years, depending on the product and how it is stored. Alcohol tinctures have a shelf life of 2-3 years, oils and salves have a shelf life of 6 months to 3 years, body butters have a shelf life of up to 6 months to 1 year, and teas have a shelf life of 1-2 year if stored properly.

+ How much should I use?

General dosing and use recomendations are included on all products. Because dosing can be based on ones needs, I encourage you to do your own research and go with what your insticts are telling you. Because I cannot legally diagnose or treat you, I recomend that you follow up with your practitioner(s).

+ Why use plant medicine?

Working with plants is a great way to not only connect back to the earth, but also a beautiful way of reconnecting with your body. Since our bodies needs change, plants are a way to nourish yourself as seasons change.

+ How long do I have to use hebal products before I see results?

This will depend on the product used, what your needs are, if you know what the root cause is, and what additional steps you are taking fo rthe results to last.

Herbs are meant to nourish one back to a state of wild being. To see long lasting results, it is best if you not only work with herbs but also focus on other factors that can be causing the body to be unnourished. These factors can include diet, stress, and much more.

+ How do I know if your products are safe to take with the meds I am on?

I recomend that you follow up with your practitioner(s) and also do research on the products that you are looking to purchase from me.

+ I am pregnant/breastfeeding. Are your products safe to use?

I recomend that you follow up with your practitioner(s) and also do research on the products that you are looking to purchase from me.

+ Do you offer consultations?

I offer different package offerings to work with me. Please check out my Wild Herbalist page for more information.

+ Do you use essential oils in your products?

I do use essential oils in my products. The amounts I use are 1-2% dilution, and are meant to compliment the product for use and smell.

When I formulate a product, the first thing I do is focus on the root cause of how I want the product to work with an individual. From there, I only add esesntial oils if necessary. It takes so much plant to make very little essential oil. With the overuse and misinformation on the use of essential oils, I mindfully formulate every product with the use of plant medicine first.
